Charmaine Peters

I loved working in the yard growing up. My dad, who was in the military, somehow managed to put in a few tomato plants, flowers and other plants, wherever we lived. I worked in plant nurseries before and during college - it never occurred to me to study Agriculture in college. Of course, soil science didn’t become a big thing until after my time. I ended up with a BA in French and don’t remember any of it.

I worked as an administrator in non- profit associations for 16 years before becoming a farmer. I advocate for community access to fresh and healthy food.
